Question:

What are the newest category III codes for reporting bronchoscopy with the insertion of an esophageal protection device and the inclusion of fluoroscopic guidance?

Answer:

Released July 1, 2022, and effective for 2023, two new Category III codes–0781T and 0782T–were added to CPT ®for reporting bronchoscopy with the insertion of an esophageal protection device and inclusive of fluoroscopic guidance, when needed. These codes have been assigned to the status indicator “E1” and thus are not covered by Medicare.
