Note first that code 94727 was created in 2012 to replace the nitrogen washout curve including alveolar nitrogen or helium equilibration time. This service is used to evaluate:

Total lung capacity
Functional residual capacity
Residual volumes
Closing volumes and distribution of ventilation.
