Question:

Are non-chemotherapy infusions of pre-mixed electrolyte solutions considered hydration or infusion?

Answer:

The medical intent of the electrolyte solution would need to be validated. The pre-packaged fluids associated with hydration therapy are of large volume—usually 500cc to 1000cc—and are found in the J7-series of the HCPCS code list.
