New Changes Highlight Popular Talk Ten Tuesdays Podcast

New personnel changes to the long-running and popular Talk Ten Tuesdays weekly Internet broadcast produced by ICD10monitor have been formally announced. New voices and faces include Angela Comfort, Cheryl Ericson, and Juliet Ugarte Hopkins, MD.

The announcement of the new changes was made this week by Chuck Buck, publisher of ICD10monitor, program host and executive producer of the broadcast that began airing live 14 years ago.

“We are delighted to announce that Angela Comfort, a long-time HIM (health information management) subject-matter expert and former senior director of HIM Practice Excellence for the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), will be the broadcast’s new co-host,” Buck said.

Comfort, who is also Assistant Vice President of Revenue Integrity for Montefiore Medical Center, will replace Dr. Erica Remer, who served for more than seven years as broadcast co-host before retiring.

“Her first broadcast assignment will be today at 10 Eastern, when we begin another season of live broadcasts,” Buck said.

Another new face and voice added to the broadcast rundown will be Cheryl Ericson, the newly designated clinical documentation integrity (CDI) correspondent. Ericson presently serves as the director of CDI for the Brundage Group, a longtime vendor of revenue and CDI services for physicians and hospitals.

Adding to the list of featured guests will be Juliet Ugarte Hopkins, MD, a former pediatrician who now is affiliated with Phoenix Medical Management. Dr. Ugarte Hopkins is scheduled to have a monthly segment during the broadcast, through which she will provide information as a physician advisor.

“Our broadcast today will be our 628th live edition,” Buck said. “Our broadcasts have mirrored the long and somewhat contentious journey as America’s healthcare system migrated from the ICD-9 to ICD-10 codes, which began effective Oct. 1, 2015.”

Buck also noted that he is grateful to his longstanding broadcast production team at MedLearn Media.
