Question:

What are the requirements when ordering HCV screening and what are the guidelines for the frequency limit?

Answer:

As with all Medicare-covered benefits, the HCV screening must be ordered by a primary care provider within the context of a primary care setting and performed by an eligible Medicare provider for these services. The annual frequency limit requires that a full 11 months must have elapsed following the month in which the prior negative HCV result was requested/reported.
