Navigating venous imaging and interventions coding

Take a guided journey through the intricacies of coding for venous imaging and interventions in this instructive webcast. Gain essential clarity and practical insights into vena cava procedures, lower extremity incompetent vein treatments, endovenous ablation therapy, venous sclerosing, and PICC and CVA procedures, including innovative inside-out techniques. Benefit from examples and discussions highlighting common coding errors. Delve into comprehensive descriptions of the procedures, unravel the nuances of code choices, and understand how these selections can evolve based on the specifics of the procedure. Strengthened by real-world examples, case studies, and anatomical diagrams, you will leave with confidence in your ability to code for venous procedures..

The agenda includes:

  • Detailed overviews of venous imaging and interventions
    • Review of anatomy, vascular families, procedures, and corresponding code choices
    • Treatment of lower extremity incompetent veins, spider veins, venous sclerosing and the different types of endovenous ablation therapy
    • Peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) and central venous access (CVA) procedures
    • Coding for new inside-out CVA technique
  • Distinctions between arterial and venous coding
  • Overview of CPT codes and how they relate to procedures, anatomy, and key phrases to look for in documentation
  • Case examples and scenarios with an emphasis on the dos and don’ts when coding for venous procedures
  • Answers to frequently asked questions and, time permitting, answers to attendee questions

Note: Before participating in this session, we recommend that you attend our Basics of Interventional Radiology Coding webcast, which covers general IR coding essentials.
