Question:

A patient undergoes arterial blood flow measurements using ABI pressure measurements and pneumatic cuffs on both extremities. The physician measures blood flow attributes from one level on each extremity. Which CPT code(s) should be reported for this limited noninvasive arterial study?

Answer:

ABI pressure measurements are obtained and pneumatic cuffs are applied to the extremities, and blood flow attributes are measured from a 1 or 2 level(s) on both extremities. Code 93922 (along with codes 93923 and 93924) is a non-imaging study, and it applies to a limited noninvasive arterial study. When more than 3 levels are measured, code 93923 is reported for a complete study.
