Codes 37215 and 37216 are assigned for open or percutaneous stent placement in carotid arteries in the neck—distal common carotid and proximal internal carotid arteries. This may also be described as a cervical carotid stent placement. Code 37215 is typically the most common carotid stent placement performed.
